41’s Vimy trip

Vimy_pinApril 9th, 2017 will mark the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Corps capture of Vimy Ridge during the Battle of Arras.   Vimy Ridge was a critical achievement for Canadian soldiers, and a pivotal victory at a turning point of the First World War.  It would be a defining moment for Canada as a country.

In 2007, 41 Hercules took a fortunate group of Cadets to England and France for the 90th anniversary of this event.  It was an amazing and humbling educational experience for all  able to attend, and one surely none of them will forget.

In 2017, 41 will return to the Vimy Ridge Memorial to commemorate and pay respect to the brave Canadian soldiers who participated and in many instances, gave their lives in the name of freedom.  It’s estimated as many as ten thousand Canadians will participate at this event.

Throughout the next several weeks, and early into the next Cadet year, information packages and fundraising information will be provided to the parents of Cadets who would qualify to attend with the Squadron in 2017.
