Excitement and pride filled the parade square as cadets of 41 Hercules Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron gathered for the February Commanding Officer’s (CO’s) Parade. The evening highlighted promotions, long-term service, and the impressive growth the cadets have shown over the past few months.

One of the most memorable moments was when many cadets who joined in September were proudly promoted to the rank of Leading Air Cadet (LAC). After months of learning drill, developing teamwork, and demonstrating dedication, these cadets officially took their next step in the program. Several other cadets were also promoted to Corporal and Flight Corporal, recognizing their leadership, responsibility, and commitment to setting a positive example within the squadron.

“Watching the new cadets getting the promotions they deserve was very motivating,” said FCpl Saifia after seeing her friends get promoted. “They have worked very hard, and I’m happy for them.”

The parade also celebrated dedication beyond rank. FSgt Madsen received the Air Cadet Service Medal, marking four years of commitment and active involvement in squadron activities. Another special recognition was awarded to the biathlon team, who earned the Biathlon Provincial Silver competition pins for their outstanding performance.

Parents and family members watched proudly as cadets marched with confidence. The moment showed not only individual achievement, but also how well the squadron works together.

The Cadet Program is open to youth aged 12 to 19 and provides opportunities to build leadership, citizenship, and physical fitness skills that last a lifetime. Nights like the CO’s Parade showcase the dedication of cadets and the bright future ahead for the squadron.
