Mess Dinner and Awards
The Squadron’s year end “mess” dinner and awards will be held on Wednesday 20 May 2015 at the Royal Canadian Legion on Cornwall St.
If you have not already signed up via e-mail to Capt Sweitzer you MUST do so on Wednesday night. We need to confirm numbers with the cater. If you don’t signup, please do not showup that night as there will not be enough food or space for unexpected people.
The cost will be $10/cadet to help with the overall cost of the meal.
Please be there before 6:25pm, seating at 6:30pm. Meal served at 6:45pm. Awards at 8:00pm. Dismissal approx 8:30PM. Parents should be there for 8:30pm to pick up the cadets.
The Dress will be full uniform But with a White shirt and black bowtie. If you can’t get a white shirt/bowtie, please just wear the full uniform. The Dinner will be for the CADETS only and other invited guests.
The Awards will be at 8:00pm and OPEN to parents at that time.
***Note: we will not be at the Armoury on 20 May. The Legion is the location for this night.
Annual Ceremonial Review
The FINAL parade night of the year will be on Wednesday 27 May 2015. This will be out Annual Ceremonial Review (ACR). This parade will have a Guest RO (the OC of the 38 Brigade) and is open to family and friends. A few awards will be handed out at this time. Please be seated by 6:30. There will be some setup required, If you can come and help at 6PM that would be appreciated.
Gliding:
Our spring gliding day – cadets to be dropped off at the Armoury at 7:45 AM
Please remember to bring a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle. Dress weather appropriate (preferably in layers) and wear good shoes (no open toe sandles or flip flops).
Survivair:
The team will be given the information for transport up to Saskadet as well as a kit list of what to bring. We will head up Friday night (May 22) and come home on Sunday afternoon. If you are on the team, please do not sign up for gliding as you will not be able to attend.
Our last official activity of the year – a mandatory citizenship activity. We will be cleaning the graves of the soldiers and planting flags for the Legion’s Flag Day ceremony
SUMMER TRAINING and Supplies:
Those Cadets that have applied for summer course, whether you have been selected or not, must see Captain Sweitzer BEFORE Wed 6 May to be sized for a Tilly hat and Blue PT t-shirt. You will require this for Summer Training if you get selected. I Must Order this immediately to ensure it is received by the end of May.
Vimy Ridge:
As advertised last year, the Easter Trip in 2017 will be to London and France. The main objective is to participate in the Vimy Ridge 100th anniversary. If you are interested, please see Lt K. Drew for details and register on-line at EF Tours site.
