On January 27-28th 2024, 41 Hercules sent five cadets and one officer for a weekend of training and participating in the Zone lll (provincial) Biathlon Competition. This was the first ski clinic/Biathlon in several years so all cadets and staff were working to increase and familiarize their skills for what is required to participate in a Biathlon competition.
On the first day cadets worked on skills for skiing and shooting including time to practice shooting a .22 caliber rifle, then on the second day cadets were able to participate in relay races as well as a Patrol Race. Bravo Zulu to all the Biathlon cadets for all their hard work and dedication over the weekend and throughout the training year.
If any cadets have interest in joining the biathlon team and have any questions, you can speak with any of the officers at 41 Hercules and can chat with any of the biathlon cadets for their perspective. Cadets typically start at the beginning of the training year joining the running team to work on endurance. Throughout the training year sessions open up for range time dedicated to the biathlon team where cadets get practice and training with the Range Safety Officer to build their skills in shooting with the daisy air rifle.
