41 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron (RCACS) was formed on 18 October 1941, some six months after the establishment of the Air Cadet League of Canada. World War II was in its third year and Canada was just 74 years old as a country. The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) had been in existence for a mere 17 years.
Throughout the 2016-17 training year, 41 along with 7 other squadrons across Saskatchewan and many more across Canada will be celebrating an amazing 75 years, at the same time we will all be celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary.
Join us as we commemorate our great history & look skyward to a bright future as new generations of young people continue to learn, serve, & advance through the air cadet program.
As 2016 is the 75th anniversary of Air Cadets in Canada, the three Air Cadet Squadrons of Regina are planning a kick off dance, open to ALL cadets and their families, to begin the year of anniversary celebrations.
To date however, the response has been very low. The organizers of this even are disappointed with the expected turn out and would like to ask EVERYONE to consider attending. This social evening is an excellent opportunity to meet with other families of all the air cadet squadrons in Regina and have some fun, win some prizes and enjoy some good food. it is designed for families, and 1 guest of the cadet to go out together, something that does not happen enough anymore.
The dance is this Saturday, February 13th. Doors open at 6pm with the dance starting at 6:30. A loonie canteen, well over 50 door prizes and a free mid-evening lunch are just a few of the many things in store.
Please consider purchasing you tickets this Wednesday night Tickets are $5 for an individual or $20 for the entire family. Let’s fill the Queen Building floor and have a great evening together in kicking off the 75th year of Air Cadets in Regina!
As expected, 41’s survival course cadets are to doing well at the Cold Lake survival wing this summer. Thanks OCdt Kinneberg for the photo!
